Day one will be dedicated to extracting and dyeing a rainbow of samples using mushrooms and lichens that can be found on the north coast of California. Students will learn id basics, ethical harvest practices, and subtle extraction techniques to achieve maximum color potential from these special dye sources. Day two we’ll extract a second round of color from our dyes and work with larger dye baths of the more common colors to create marbled designs on yarn of the student choice.
