Using common dye mushrooms for bold dye baths and a rainbow of exhaust baths, we will make beautiful variegated skeins. You will learn the basics about using mushrooms for dyes, and how to work with mordants and pH modifiers to make color gradations. Students take home an instructional booklet, a guide to the best local dye mushrooms and 100g of mushroom dyed yarn. You may purchase wool yarn in class or provide your own (must be pre-scoured). Wool will be divided into three 33g skeins. Bring or plan to buy extra yarn in case there is extra dye! Materials fee $15, payable to the instructor covers 100g of wool yarn.

Sign up for all three workshops and save 10%. Can be combined with member discount.
